Kenya Primary School Heads Association Meeting 2015

This week’s calendar shows that KEPSHA conference will be held in Sheikh Zayed Centre in Mombasa. The conference comes at a time when the education sector is experiencing great turbulence. Will the conference address the very core issues in the sector?

The Kenya Primary School Heads Association meeting 2015 will be addressed by the Information Cabinet Secretary as well as the Cabinet Secretary for Education. The conference will begin officially on Tuesday 4, 2015. The conference will last for a period of one week.

The theme of this year’s meeting is about inclusion of digital learning in primary school education in Kenya. The meeting will be attended by 8,000 primary school head teachers from the 47 counties.

Tough Times
The head teachers’ conference is coming at a time when the teachers’ unions are battling a pay battle at the courtrooms. There is a lot of activity over the medical scheme for teachers. The last significant communication from the KEPSHA on matter touching on teachers’ welfare was when it said that it approves job evaluations to be conducted on teachers.

The conference is also coming at a time when the education CS banned the August 2015 holiday tuition in all schools.
