Buses to Garissa

Are you travelling to Northeastern Kenya? By Road?

If you are looking for buses to Garissa from Nairobi then follow the following steps;
1.   Get to Nairobi.
2.    Head straight to Eastleigh.
3.   Book a bus that heads to Garissa town. Try to book a bus from an established company. Some of the buses from Nairobi to Garissa town include;

·         Earth Plane. Buses that belong to this company are blue in color and they can be found just besides Tuskys supermarket in Eastleigh. This company really keeps time. The first bus from this company leaves for Garissa at 6:00am. The second bus leaves for Garissa at 9:00am. The third bus leaves for Garissa at noon. If you leave at noon,  you will get to Garissa at around 6:00pm

·         Zafanana. This bus company has a good Swahili name. Zafanana is a Swahili name for “Similar”. All the buses in this company are blue and they are of very similar shape.

·         E-Coach. This company has white buses and travels to many towns in Northeastern Kenya including Garissa, Bura Tana and Hola.

Muhsin: This is another company with very confortable and powerful Scania buses.

Buses from Garissa to Bura, Ijara and Masalani
It might be the first time that you are travelling from Garissa to Bura or Ijara or Masalani. Well, don't worry. There is only one bus that always travels from Garissa to the three towns in Southern parts of Garissa. The bus is called DEK Express. The bus normally leaves Garissa town at 7:45 am and arrives in Bura at 11:00am. The bus arrives at Ijara at 3:00pm.

Bura is the main centre in Fafi.

Buses from Garissa to Galmagala, Hulugho
If you wish to travel from Garissa to Galmagala or further to Hulugho then you will use Kilas Express. The bus leaves Garissa Town at 7:45 am and it will arrive at Bura town at 11:00am before heading east towards the Somalia border. The bus will arrive at Galmagala at 3:00pm.

You can use Kilas Express to travel to Bura.

Buses from Garissa to Dadaab
You can travel from Garissa to Dadaab using several buses thanks to the high number of NGOs in Dadaad. Some of the bus companies that travel to Dadaab include;

  • Zafanana.
  • E-Coach.
  • Sagal Express.
