Gone
are the days. It’s a new era. It’s a new era whereby those wishing to join the
NPSC are going to go through three stages spanning three months.
The
NPSC Kenya Police recruitment regulations and policies are set to change how
the recruitment of officers is done.
The Details
As
per the regulations, the Kenya police exercise will be done over a period of three
months. That is, it will take 3 months from the day a person is successfully
taken from the recruiting ground to the time that he/she joins the training
college. The regulations will also be applied in the
recruitment of Administration Police officers (AP). The regulations are yet to be enforced so don't worry much.
The
3 months period will allow for a rigorous grilling of the candidates. The
recruitment will have 3 broad stages.
Stage
1
The
candidates are selected after going through the normal physical. Notice the use
of the word “Selected”. That is, at this stage, no appointment is made.
Stage
2
Documents
are checked for authenticity. A detailed medical checkup is also conducted at
this stage to further ascertain the medical fitness of any given candidate.
Stage
3
This
is the most critical stage of all. In this stage, the all documents and other
certificates of a candidate are checked against those of the other shortlisted
candidates. The documents had already been screened for authenticity in stage
2. The screening in this 3rd stage is aimed at getting the best
candidate from the pool of selected candidates. The best candidate will be
selected at this stage based on either the co-curriculum activities which ought
to be proven by the furnished documents or through academic related scores. As
you know, the Kenya Police sometimes hits below the belt in academic
requirements.
Names
Published
After
the third stage has been completed, the names of the successful candidates will
be published by NPSC. Shortly after, the successful candidates will report to
the training college.
