factor is the recruiting entity. The recruiting entity can be a county
government, a private organization or a state organ of the National Government.
In the private sector, a diploma holder might earn higher or lower than what the County and the National Government pay. If you are earning lower than the rates in the public sector then know that you are getting a raw deal.

County Governments, a fresh diploma holder at entry level earns a minimum basic
salary of Kshs. 19,323 and a maximum basic salary of Kshs. 24,662. In the
National Government, a fresh diploma holder earns just at the same rate of Ksh. 19,
323 – Ksh. 24,662 p.m. The figures are for the basic salary only. There are
other core allowances such as house allowance and commuter allowance that will push up the gross salary before being slashed by the taxes. For a
diploma holder working in Nairobi, the house allowance is Kshs. 6,750.
