In County Governments, a fresh diploma holder at entry level earns a minimum basic salary of Kshs. 19,323 and a maximum basic salary of Kshs. 24,662. In the National Government, a fresh diploma holder earns just at the same rate of Ksh. 19, 323 – Ksh. 24,662 p.m. The figures are for the basic salary only. There are other core allowances such as house allowance and commuter allowance that will push up the gross salary before being slashed by the taxes. For a diploma holder working in Nairobi, the house allowance is Kshs. 6,750.
