this cadre, the new minimum pay has risen to Kshs. 26,707 while the maximum pay
has risen to Kshs. 34,086.

the details you need about the p1 teachers salary scale in Kenya including the
new basic salary under the 50-60% pay scale.
Basic Salary
Current Basic Salary: The minimum (Starting) salary is Kshs. 16,692 while the maximum is Kshs. 21,304.
50-60% Basic salary:
- Under the 50-60% salary scale, the conversion rate for p1 teachers is 60%.
- In the 50-60% scale, the minimum basic salary is Kshs. 26,707 while the maximum is Kshs. 34,086.
The change in the minimum basic pay under the current scale and the 50-60% scale is Kshs. 10,015.
The change in the maximum basic pay under the 50-60% as compared to the current scale is Kshs. 12,782.
 
Allowances
Under the
Kshs. 9.3 billion offer, the new allowances for all teachers is being
implemented in three phases. p1 teachers in cluster three areas are the lowest
beneficiaries as their new allowance has been increased only by Kshs. 200.

Leave
Allowance: The new leave allowance is Kshs. 4,000 per year.
Hardship Allowance: Under
the newly harmonized allowances, the hardship allowance for p1 is Kshs. 5,700 per month up from Kshs. 5,007.60.
House Allowance
This is one of the most critical allowance. The details are as
follows;
- Nairobi:-  The new rate is
     Kshs. 6,750 up from Kshs. 5,000.
- The house allowance in Mombasa, Kisumu, Malindi, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale & Naivasha is Kshs. 4,500 up from
     Kshs. 3,000.
- In Eldoret,
     Nyeri, Kericho, Kakamega, Kisii, Embu, Nanyuku, Lodwar and Garissa, the
     house allowance is Kshs. 3,850 up from Kshs. 3,000.
- In other
     areas, the new rate is Kshs. 3,200 up from Kshs. 3,000.
